Not just Game Pass; Activision Blizzard Games Coming to Ubisoft+ for 15 Years

The finalization of Activision Blizzard acquisition is a reason to celebrate not only for Microsoft. Thanks to the deal, such games as Call of Duty and Diablo will also go to Ubisoft+. The French company has secured the rights to make future works of the studio available in the cloud.

It was not an easy task, but Microsoft finally managed to seal the deal and become the proud owner of Activision Blizzard. Among other things, it gained the ability to offer Game Pass users its interesting catalog of games, including such popular series as Call of Duty or Diablo. If you've been following this topic, you probably know that the deal wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the the involvement of Ubisoft, among others, in the negotiations.

The French developer and publisher gained a lot from the deal - it received the rights to stream all items owned by Activision Blizzard, thanks to which they will be included in the Ubisoft+ service. What's more, it will feature works (including future DLCs) that will be created in the next 15 years (excluding the European Economic Area). This has convinced the UK CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) that there will be no monopolization of the cloud gaming market.

A voice on the matter came from Chris Early, acting senior vice president of strategic partnerships and business development at Ubisoft, and the person who had a key influence on the negotiations.

"Obtaining these rights enables us to introduce Activision Blizzard games, such as Call of Duty, to Ubisoft+, as well as license their streaming to cloud gaming companies, service providers and console manufacturers - meaning we are helping to expand access to streaming these games to more gamers around the world."

Early also emphasized that Ubisoft will forever retain access to all games released to date by Activision Blizzard, as well as works released over the next 15 years. It's hard not to get the impression that the creators of the Assassin's Creed series have just secured a big slice of the expensive pie.

"We know that gamers can't wait for more games from Ubisoft, so we'll take as much time as it takes to give them the experience they expect. Now that the deal has been finalized, we can move on to action," continued Ubisoft's senior vice president.

Unfortunately it was not specified when these changes will come into effect.. However, as you can see, the acquisition of Activision Blizzard was a milestone for Microsoft, which at the same time opened the way to new deals and proposals. It is possible that this is only the beginning of the changes that await us in the gaming world.
