Assassin's Creed: Shadows was finally released. Many people, me included, were waiting for the series to visit Japan. Let’s be honest, it is an ideal place to tell a story about assassins, taking into consideration its history. So, is the game good? If you are not expecting anything revolutionary, it will provide a few nice hours. However, there is a chance that you will face some bugs first. We have written about missing DLSS. It is not the end though. Numerous people report much more serious issue – they can’t launch the game at all.

Problems with starting AC Shadows

Many players know the feeling when you wait for a game only to see that it welcomes you with technical problems. In the worst-case scenario, it will not work at all on your device. If you are lucky, you can do something about it like in the case of DX12 error in AC Shadows. If you are unlucky, the rescue is not so certain.

With that in mind, some gamers on the official Discord channel, Reddit megathread or Steam forum report that they have problems with launching AC Shadows. All they can see is the game starting and closing after seeing Ubisoft Connect screen. If you happen to be one of these people, we have bad news for you. As of now, there is no proper fix to this issue. It might be unsolvable by players. Hopefully, Ubisoft will soon find a solution to this problem.

So, be patient. Probably something will be done in this case soon. While you are waiting, we recommend you see our guide. We know that it is not even close to playing in person, but you will be able to start smoother when you are able to jump in the game. Moreover, we have an interactive map.
