Hogwarts Legacy became a huge hit right off the bat after release. No wonder, since it's the first game set in the world created by JK Rowling in a long time. None of them gave such freedom in exploring the castle grounds as the latest exploit of Avalanche Software.

However, any game in its vanilla form can get boring after a while. Fortunately, modders often come to the rescue, making games get a second life thanks to their work. With its huge world and fantasy setting, Hogwarts Legacy is the perfect game for crazy ideas. Below we present the strangest, in our opinion, mods for Hogwarts Legacy.

How to install mods?

However, before we get to the list of the strangest mods, let's do a quick recap on how to install them. This isn't a difficult task if you follow the instructions below.

1. Visit the Nexus Mods website, it has a dedicated Hogwarts Legacy hub;

Nexus Mods already offers a wide selection of mods for Hogwarts Legacy.

1. Select the modification you would like to install;
2. Read the mod's instructions. Some of them require additional criteria to be met!;
3. Select the "Files" tab and then the "Manual download" option;
4. Unzip the downloaded file;
5. Copy its contents to the game folder. The default is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks";
6. The selected mod will be playable after restarting the game.

Mods replacing paintings

One of the elements known from Harry Potter movies are the paintings with moving characters. Modders rose to the occasion by preparing some interesting and strange modifications of these.

Hagrid Paintings

If you miss the famous gamekeeper in Hogwarts Legacy, then this mod is just for you. Thanks to it, one of the most beloved characters known from books and movies appears in the paintings inside the game. He's also there in his most infamous form, i.e. the one that appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone video game on the PSX.

Ron Weasley Paintings

Thanks to this modification, you can feel like the real Harry Potter. It makes none other than Ron Weasley appear in the paintings at Hogwarts, watching your every step. He will certainly not be pleased when you cast Unforgivable Curses on your opponents.

Hogwarts has entered the 21st century and dancing has become one of the subject. The headmaster didn't have to look for teachers for long. It was Ricardo Milos, who, with his magical movements, showed the British wizards what fun means.

Brooms are one of the most popular means of transport used by wizards in the universe. Nimbus 2000 and Firebolt, however, have gone out of fashion, and modders have made it possible to travel around Hogwarts in style.

You're a lizard, Harry. The Keeper of the Keys came to the hero of Hogwarts Legacy specially to share with him the good news. The latter, however, wasn't too happy to see him and with the help of the Petrificius Totalus turned him into a broom, which he uses to travel around the school grounds.

Shrek always liked peace of mind. He used to live away from everyone in his swamp. However, this changed after the appearance of a certain annoying Donkey, who came with a huge dragoness. The ogre had enough of it and went to Hogwarts, looking for fortune. Since then, he serves students who want to fly somewhere quickly. You don't want to know by what power he's able to get airborne.

Hogwarts is one of the oldest wizarding schools. No wonder that the students eventually got bored with the decor, which remembered the times of dinosaurs. The teachers met their demands and in place of the Quidditch stadium, built a proper Ikea. One of the most popular items from the store became a toy shark, which replaced the old-fashioned brooms.

Banana Broom

Climate change reached Hogwarts as well. Deforestation meant that wizards had to adapt to the prevailing conditions. More sunlight favors the growth of bananas, which, with some magic, reached astonishing sizes. As a result, Quidditch games will never be the same again.

A railroad strike prevented the Hogwarts Express from leaving Platform 9 & 3/4. The Ministry of Magic was unwilling to cough up the extra Galleons, and another school year was in jeopardy. Fortunately, Thomas the Tank Engine came to the rescue and ended up permanently settling in Hogwarts.
