1000 Euro Penalty for Playing WoW Between League of Legends Matches
The League of Legends team, G2 Esports, was fined €1,000 for having one of the players, Martin „Wunder” Hansen, playing World of Warcraft Classic between the matches.
Just yesterday we wrote about how the German player "Seiko" had around of Auto Chess during the online tournament in Hearthstone. Unfortunately, he could not focus on two games at the same time, which contributed to his defeat at Hearthstone Grandmasters. A similar situation occurred in the European League of Legends (LEC). It turned out that one of the players of the G2 Esports team, Martin "Wunder" Hansen, between matches on the professional stage played ... World of Warcraft Classic.
We learned about it from the LEC Penalty Tracker report, which contained information about the financial penalty for G2 (1000 euros) for the "Commercial Violation". The Danish competitor's organisation also informed the organisers about the situation on its official Twitter and thanked the organisers for giving them an excuse to completely remove WoW from Wunder's computer. However, it is not known when and how he managed to start the game on the tournament hardware, but as you can see, it has not escaped the attention of Riot Games.
