ZorkQuest II: The Crystal of Doom continues with the solutions initiated in the original created on the model of an interactive comic book. By turning over the pages of the virtual picture story, the player will be able to get acquainted with the fantastic story prepared by the authors of the game.
The scenario refers to the events from the first part of the game. After an evil sorcerer has been imprisoned in a magical sphere, Gurthark, Ryker, Frobwit and Acia leave Egreth Castle and prepare for their further journey. Satisfied with a well done mission, however, they do not realize that new problems have arisen in Quendor. Their perpetrator is a certain Moog, an adept of the correspondence course of magic, who decides to steal the powerful and unimaginable power of the book of spells. The spells contained in it will help devastate its entire land and turn the lives of its inhabitants into a nightmare.
The program is extremely easy to use, the control is done with just three keys. The player is free to control the speed of the displayed history: he can skip some chapters or return to them. If you dream of a deeper characterization of the characters, at the right moments (indicated by the folded corner of the page), you can extend the story with facts from the previous life of the character.
Graphics on the knees does not knock down, but when evaluating it you have to take a correction for the year of release of the program. In addition to simple, static images, the game also contains remnant animations. The sound intended to serve as an addition to the visual feast boils down to sporadic squeaks of Speaker's PC and the overall impression is unlikely to improve. Despite these drawbacks, ZorkQuest II: The Crystal of Doom is an interesting reference to the cult series of adventure games and every fan of it should face this comic book at least once.
