Shoot'em up, in which we play the role of a mercenary crossing a foreign planet and eliminating enemy troops; we observe the hero from the side, using both an extensive arsenal of firearms and elements of the environment. As you progress, the protagonist gains experience points and advances to new levels, as well as gaining new guns and armour.

Zombotron is a shoot'em up game developed by an independent artist known under the pseudonym of Ant.Karlov also known for creating browser titles such as Fire Catcher, Alien Transporter, Mushroomer, and Knighttron.

Plot

The protagonist of the game is a mercenary known as Blaze Rush. He is struggling with financial problems, so when he receives a distress signal from the titular planet, he decides to travel to its surface, sensing an opportunity to make an easy profit. On the spot, Blaze Rush discovers that this mysterious announcement was made by the crew of a downed spacecraft; in the meantime, his own ship falls victim of unknown looters, and he is trapped on an alien planet. To leave Zombotron, the hero has to find thieves and recover stolen parts of his ship.

Mechanics

In Zombotron, the action is shown from the side perspective. Blaze Rush first of all sets off to eliminate enemy troops. Although the protagonist's platform contains a rich arsenal of firearms, there is nothing to prevent him from using his surroundings to kill his enemies, for example by dropping piles of rubble on their heads. In addition, from time to time the hero can sit at the controls of a combat vehicle, while the opponents themselves often fight each other - in such cases, players can simply wait and kill the unlucky ones who manage to emerge victorious from the battle. As he progresses, the mercenary gains experience points and unlocks new experience levels, as well upgrades his armor elements that not only increase his resistance to damage, but also affect the strength of his attacks.
