A co-op-oriented action game created by an independent developer known as Massive Black. The plot here focuses on zombies invading one of American primary schools. The students decide to re-capture the building using the available weapons.

Zombie Playground for PC is a cooperation-oriented action game, which casts the players in the roles of kids fighting an army of monsters. This is the debut of Massive Block – an independent developer.

Mechanics

The creators' aim was to make the players travel back in time to their childhood periods, when they used to fight imaginary monsters with weapons that did not exist. The game is set in an American primary school. The buildings are overrun by hordes of zombies and kids are the only ones capable of defeating them. The players take on the roles of them and the game is a combination of a third-person shooter and an arcade-RPG. Zombie Playground focuses on cooperation-related aspects, thus the players collectively try to counter-attack subsequent waves of opposition.

However, Zombie Playground for PC is by no means a mindless slasher game. Instead, surviving a zombie invasion requires fruitful cooperation among the players, being able to develop adequate tactics, as well as using the equipment owned with reason in mind. The experience is diversified by a character development system. Achievements earn the players experience points that can be spent on unlocking new skills. Furthermore, the player is given a lot of freedom when it comes to choosing weapons, equipment nad clothing – all of this affects one's performance in combat.

Each team can be comprised of 4 players tops. The game offers several character classes for various play-styles to be applied. For instance, Heavy Gun makes use of heavy weaponry, Gunslinger on the other hand, prefers smaller handguns. The game features more melee-oriented classes as well, auch as Scrapper (who wields a metal stick) or Brawler. Also, support classes were included, such as Gadget (helpful equipment) or Book Worm (certain magic abilities).
