Mechanics

Ziggurat 2 is a roguelite in the form of a first-person shooter, where each level is generated randomly. The core of the game is no different from what was presented to us in the previous installment. While exploring each room, we come across hordes of enemies, but also traps and special treasures. We get rid of enemies with spells and ranged weapons such as wands, boltguns, magic books throwing poisonous bullets or fireballs, grenades and bombs, scepters with different trajectories of bullets inflicting damage from the elements and others. The skirmishes are dynamic and require accuracy, but also the ability to avoid enemy attacks, whose behaviour and type of damage vary. Enemies include powerful guards, goblins, knights and dangerous carrots. After killing our enemies, experience crystals fall out of them and if we collect the necessary amount of them, our character will level up, increasing the pool of her maximum points of life and mana, and unlocking access to a new skills.

What's more, after killing a given type of enemy, we will see an extensive description in the beastly beastly beastly beast, with information about his statistics, resistance, as well as weaknesses.

Deaths are an integral part of the game and allow us to return to the Citadel, which is the headquarter of our brotherhood, where we have the opportunity, for the goods collected during the previous approaches, to improve our equipment and skills, which can significantly tip the scales of victory and extend each subsequent game, saving us from an unpleasant situation. In the Citadel, we can also decide what kind of mission we want to go on and who we want to control during it. In the game, we have the opportunity to recruit allies, some of whom are known from the previous part, and some are completely new.

Technical aspects

Ziggurat 2 is a three-dimensional game set in a fantasy world, which does not lack humorous elements in the form of hostile carrots or red peppers chasing us.
