Story
The story told in Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories loosely refers to the original. As we play, we follow the fate of Atem, a pharaoh trying to save his kingdom from danger, after he found himself in the 21st century, and Yugi, his descendant from modern times. The task for the protagonists is to collect the so-called Millennium Items, which will enable the ruler to return home and eliminate the danger before it is too late.
Mechanics
Gameplay in Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories is based on card duels. We can use decks of forty cards, representing items, spells, powers, and monsters. Apart from careful observation of the opponent's moves, success is also ensured by combining the effects of individual cards, which increases their combat potential; of course, as the adventure progresses, we gain stronger and stronger cards, which in the case of rare copies requires laborious grind.</p>
Technical aspects
Visuals of Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories adopt a distinctive style inspired by the animated original.
