Mobile re-edition of a classic jRPG game and conversion of the second part of Ys Chronicles I & II set, initially released on the PSP console. Its story is a direct continuation to the events of first game of the series, with us once again taking role of red-haired warrior named Adol Christian.
Ys Chronicles II, available on AND and iOS, is a Japanese action RPG developed by Falcom. The game is a mobile conversion of the second half of the Ys Chronicles I & II collection, released on PlayStation Portable, which in itself is a remake of the first two installments of the series.
Plot
Ys Chronicles II is a direct continuation of Ys Chronicles I and starts right after the end of the first game. Once again, we play as a redheaded warrior named Adol Christin. After breaking through all the floors of the Darm Tower, Adol is kidnapped, along with the magical Ys books, by a mysterious light and thrown on a flying island. It soon turns out that the island's territories are victims of increasingly frequent attacks by demons. Our task is to discover the reason for these invasions and find a way to stop them.
Mechanics
Ys Chronicles II, released on AND and iOS, is an action RPG which means that we spend most of our time developing characters, exploring the world and fighting monsters. The fights take place in a style that does not resemble any other game of this genre. The player does not have access to a separate attack command. Instead, he only controls the movements of the character and must steer him so that he can collide with enemies. The outcome depends on which side of the enemy we come into contact with. Attacking them directly isn't a good option - the most effective form of attack is to manipulate the character in such a way as to only attack the sides or back of the enemy.
Compared to the previous part, the combat system has been enriched with the possibility of casting spells. In addition, there is the option of transforming into a demon, which allows you to talk to any opponent who would attack us ina a human form. This allows us to learn about the motivations and stories of the opposite side of the conflict.
