Another production belonging to the popular genre of network sandboxes, focused on the unlimited creation of the game world and shared adventures. The title was developed by Winterkewl Games, an independent studio, in cooperation with the Yogscast team, known mainly for a number of funny game materials such as Minecraft. Yogventures draws from it to the fullest, introducing a few innovations of its own to the gameplay.
Yogventures is a sandbox designed mainly for multiplayer mode. This is the first production developed by the Yogscast team. This group specializes in creating humorous videos from other people's games and is best known for Minecraft's funny series of films entitled Shadow of Israphel. The technical side of the project was developed by an independent studio Winterkewl Games.
The action takes place in a fantasy world, although at the same time the authors offered a very humorous approach to this genre. The basic gameplay mechanics resembles other sandboxes. The camera is located behind the back of the heroes, whose movements are controlled directly by the players. The title offers a lot of attractions. We can explore, murder monsters, build structures and extract raw materials. The action is not only limited to the surface, but also includes vast underground, full of precious jewels, gloomy crypts and monsters, the killing of which will allow us to capture many rare objects. There was also a system of craftsmanship enabling the production of own equipment.
Playing is mainly about creating one's own worlds and then experiencing adventures with friends in them. This is made possible by powerful but easy to use editing tools. The game allows for huge freedom. We get full control over every element of the virtual world - from buildings and dungeons to NPCs and monsters. The engine has been designed to be able to display huge maps without any problems, where literally everything can be destroyed.
Of course, hand-designing every nook and cranny of the world would quickly get tired of most people. That's why the basic terrain is first generated randomly, and only then we start to modify it manually. The game in no way limits the creativity of players. The massive mountain range or the ocean, for example, can be recalled in no time at all. The authors made sure that Yogventures could boast a huge database of objects, objects, creatures and objects. Thanks to that we never lack elements to fill the maps.
