Plot

The action takes place in a fantasy land inspired by Korean folklore. Ruled by the Jade Emperor, the civilization is on the verge of extinction due to the invasion of the forces of the Demon King. The experienced exorcists sent to fight the army of darkness are slaughtered, so the duty to save the world falls on the shoulders of a young exorcist named Dongbaek.

The girl travels to a ruined village built on the gates leading to hell. Her task is to penetrate the domain of demons, defeat their commanders and find scrolls containing information about a missing child that has a chance to turn the tide of the entire war.

Game mechanics

Yeomna: The Legend of Dongbaek is a classically realized two-dimensional platformer. We explore extensive maps, avoid traps and fight enemies. In clashes we use both firearms and white weapons.

The heroine, in addition to her human form, can also transform into a cat, and each of these forms has unique abilities, helpful both during skirmishes and in solving logic puzzles.

As befits a metroidvania, access to many places on the map is initially blocked. As the player progresses through the game, he acquires new skills and items that allow him to reach previously inaccessible areas.

Between missions in the afterlife, the player returns to the village. Over the course of the adventure we slowly rebuild it, which provides us with the opportunity to use many useful bonuses.
