Yakuza 5 is the next, full-fledged version of a series of action games maintained in the world of the title mafia organization. The production allows not only to direct the fate of famous heroes, but also to feel the climate characteristic for the Country of the Cherry Blossom. The title was created by Amusement Vision studio, which is also responsible for the previous parts of the cycle.
In the game we play five playable characters in total, and each of them is in a slightly different situation. Kazuma Kiryu works as a taxi driver in Fukuoka city, Taiga Saejima is in prison, Tatsuo Shinada is a former baseball player, Sun Akiyama runs a business in Osaka where Haruka is looking for work. The latter is at the same time the main character of the plot and there is a story around her adventures. Fans remember her from the first part when she was still a little girl. In the following years she grew up and played an important role in the whole intrigue.
One of the biggest attractions of the previous editions was a faithful representation of the climate of the Japanese city. This time the creators have moved as many as five metropolises of the Land of the Cherry Blossom to the virtual world: Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya. Exploration of these places is traditionally not only limited to fulfilling the mission, but also to checking the attractions on offer. The player can join clubs, bars, shops, as well as take part in one of the numerous mini-games diversifying the fun. The game has been enriched with a quite extensive combat system, which is also due to the fact that in the game we control five characters.
The developer also tried to slightly improve the graphic design. The character models look even more detailed and the cities look very suggestive. The creators paid a lot of attention to the climate of individual locations and they managed to do it exceptionally well. At the same time, the production has retained its characteristic Japanese style, which may be particularly pleasing to its fans. The sound also holds the level of the previous parts.
