The game was created by inXile studio, founded by the creator of the original Brian Fargo, and the title itself is a kind of remake, combining elements of the classic trilogy with the mechanics and setting of modern RPG productions. In the game, we play as the title Bard, who values the company of women and the wealth of his purse more than fame.

The events presented in this production again refer to the era of the Three Kingdoms (the break-up of China into three dynasties: Wei, Wu and Shu). The actual gameplay is still based on the "one against all" scheme.

A remake of Ninja Gaiden — a popular arcade action game, very successful on arcade machines as well as on most major gaming platforms during the late 80s and early 90s — developed with Xbox in mind. In the game, we assume the role of the eponymous warrior named Ryu who seeks revenge on the mysterious organization called Vigoor Empire and its leader, the man responsible for murdering the protagonist’s clan and stealing the magical sword Ryuken. Fighting subsequent hordes of enemies is, as you could expect, the key gameplay element, although the Xbox version, in contrast to the original, offers fully 3D graphics with dynamic camera. The game also comes with a larger arsenal of melee weapons as well as a simple progression system, which allows us to learn new techniques and upgrade our armaments.

Dynasty Warriors 5 is, as the name suggests, the fifth part of one of the most famous series of walking brawls. The whole is like a collection of all the elements introduced to the fourth edition by Xtreme Legends and Empires additions, although there are a few other minor novelties.
