PS3 PSV

XBlaze Lost: Memories for PSV and PS3 is a visual novel adventure game that takes place in the same universe as the BlazBlue fighting games. It is a sequel to the 2013 XBlaze Code: Embyro. Both games were developed by Arc System Works. The company exists since 1988 and created many popular game series, like the previously mentioned BlazBlue or Guilty Gear.

The Plot

The game shows the events of Embyro from many different points of view, and at the same time adds new plotlines and characters. We play as Me, a mysterious pink-haired hero who looks for her younger sister that got lost in the Phantom Field. Enigmatic Nobody will be our guide in this weird world. While exploring the Phantom Field, Me will discover crystallized memories of the characters from XBlaze Code: Embyro.

Mechanics

Gameplay mechanics in XBlaze Lost: Memories for PSV and PS3 are rather different than in XBlaze Code: Embyro, which was your standard visual novel. Outside the dialogues, we explore the Phantom Field in a way that resembles many 16- and 8-bit RPGs. During our exploration we answer Nobody’s riddles and discover new memory crystals that open new chapters in the story.

Technical Aspects

Visuals in XBlaze Lost: Memories for PSV and PS3 are different from those we saw in XBlaze Code: Embyro. During the dialogues, we observe character portraits animated on 2D backgrounds. This changes only when we are exploring the Phantom Field. It is worth noting that Japaneese actors dubbed all dialogues in the game.
