Xatax is a cosmic shooter, evoking the right associations with such classics as the Super Cobra hit released in the early eighties. The player will play the role of the pilot of a good fighter named X72, who was sent on a suicidal mission to destroy the mysterious title object that threatens the peace in the galaxy. On the way to his target he will have an armada of space ships and creatures, the annihilation of which is also indicated.
Fight against Xatax is divided into three episodes, and these in turn into different levels. After reaching the new stage, we receive a special code, which allows us to start the game from the moment when we last finished the competition. In addition to manoeuvring between the hail of bullets spitting out of foreign ships and stationary defensive equipment, we must also be careful about the terrain. Any contact with structures created by Xatax results in immediate death. Initially, avoiding buildings is not particularly difficult. Only in the later phase of the game, you have to manoeuvre more carefully in complicated mazes and pray in order not to get a stray bullet. As in any game of this type, some broken ships will lose bonuses. They can provide us with a temporary cover, increase the power of weapons or provide a faster shot.
Graphic artwork on the knees does not knock down, but it is not tragic either. The biggest accusation concerns not very detailed boards, which are monotonous and quickly get bored. The sound also presents an average level and it is difficult to be delighted. Generally, Xatax is a solid portion of shooting for several hours, which should appeal to all fans of saving our planet from a foreign yoke.
