X4: Tides of Avarice

X4: Tides of Avarice is the third expansion for the space simulator X4: Foundations, released in 2018. Both the basic version of the game and the expansion were developed by Egosoft studio.

Plot

In terms of plot, the DLC revolves around the plans of mysterious manipulators whose machinations may forever change the balance of power in the galaxy.

Mechanics

This is a traditional add-on that doesn't introduce any revolutionary changes, instead focusing on expanding content and gameplay mechanics.

In addition, the expansion brings more variety to the game through the implementation of stellar phenomena that significantly affect gameplay.

X4: Tides of Avarice also includes new ships. Among them we'll find the Erlking, a pirate battleship with an experimental energy source, and the luxurious star yacht Astrid.
