The title received a warm reception (according to the Metacritic website, the average rating given to it by players and reviewers oscillated around "eight"), and enjoyed excellent sales. Suffice it to say that it found half a million buyers within two days of its release, while by June 2020 it had reached the hands of more than 3 million people. In addition, in March 2024 the item lived to see a version for the Nintendo Switch console. In the meantime, the authors not only patched their creation, but also enriched it with new expansions, released in 2018-2019.

Although in light of the success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance the announcement of its sequel seemed a matter of time, the developers made fans wait until April 2024 for it. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was headed for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Games in the series Kingdom Come: Deliverance take us to medieval Europe, more precisely - to 15th-century Bohemia. The main character KCD i KCD 2 is the son of a blacksmith named Henrywho, burning with desire for revenge for the murder of his native village, gets involved in an intrigue of a much larger caliber.

In productions under the banner of Kingdom Come: Deliverance the action is viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP) and we are given open worlds to explore freely (on foot or on horseback). They are driven by quests that push the plot forward, accompanied by various missions and side activities. As we progress, we develop Henry, learning new skills and honing the ones we've already unlocked, as well as gathering better equipment or upgrading the equipment we have.

The developers of these games put emphasis on realism, which is reflected not only in the appearance of the presented world (it is in vain to look for fantastic elements in it), but also, among other things, in the system of equipment and combat model.. The latter tries to recreate the specifics of medieval swordsmanship as closely as possible; however, games under the banner of KCD also allow us to use ranged weapons, sneak and kill enemies silently.
