A sports game about wrestling, belonging to a series started in the year 2000 and published by 2K. WWE 2K25 offers a bunch of new features, like being able to fight superstars of different genders or engage in various game modes. They include a card game, a managerial mode, a career mode and a sandbox mode.
WWE 2K25 is a sports game dedicated to wrestling, which belongs to the series that started in 2000. The game was developed by Visual Concepts studio, also known for the NBA 2K series, and its release was handled by 2K Games.
Gameplay
The pillar of gameplay in WWE 2K25 is fighting matches in the ring. Fighting for victory, we launch attacks, use grips and throws, as well as perform various special moves. We can also dive through barriers and launch other crazy moves.
All of this requires dexterity and reflex from us. Fights in the game are based on various principles, which have been expanded to include clashes between competitors of different genders, chain wrestling, and events such as Underground or Bloodline.
Superstars
WWE 2K25 is based on the official WWE license, so the game features over 300 real characters. Among the stars representing different generations, we can find Seth "Freakin" Rollins, Undertaker, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and Jade Cargill.
Game modes
We can play WWE 2K25 alone, in online multiplayer or on a shared screen. The list of game modes is as follows:
- Showcase: The Bloodline's Dynasty - a story mode, presented by Paul Heyman, allowing us to trace the fate of the Bloodline dynasty, which has made its mark on the history of wrestling;
- MyRISE - a fictionalized career in which we take control of a male or female Superstar and climb the ladder of fame, while watching Bayley, Kevin Owens and others try to take control of the WWE universe; in addition to them, Jey Uso and Bianca Belair also appear here. It is worth mentioning that this time it was decided to standardize the entire mode and propose one storyline, regardless of the gender of our character;
- MyGM - a managerial mode that allows us to take the helm of a team of professional players and lead them to the pinnacle of fame (also within the framework of online multiplayer);
- Universe - a sandbox mode in which we create our own version of WWE;
- MyFACTION - a card game in which we collect a deck containing WWE celebrities and compete against other players, gaining new cards and improving the ones we already have as we progress.

MKAU Gaming: 8 / 10 by Hayden Nelson
WWE 2K25 is a true love letter to WWE Fans, delivering exciting new additions, reintroduced favourites, and an all-around fun experience.
GamingBolt: 7 / 10 by Joelle Daniels
While WWE 2K25 tries to be more than just a yearly roster update thanks to its new features, the game tends to trip over itself with its ambitious new stories, while also hamstringing the PC release with strange decisions like hard-capped frame rates and locking cutscenes to 30 FPS.
Completexbox: 90 / 100 by Dan Boise
If you’ve played the last 2-3 entries in the WWE2K series, you know what to expect, except better. More wrestlers, more features (new and returning), and a plethora of gameplay value. If you’ve been on the fence, whether since the disastrous 2K20 or a previous era of wrestling gaming, WWE 2K25 is the best game to pick up if you’re looking to step back into the virtual squared circle. Yes, there are some annoyances like DLC (I wish New Jack and Guilia would’ve been available from the start), lack of accessibility features, and questionable character/render design, but the core game is jampacked with content that will keep you hooked until next year. Question is: How can they improve on a near perfect formula? Highly recommended.
