World of Warcraft: Midnight Description
World of Warcraft: Midnight is the eleventh expansion to the critically acclaimed, wildly popular 2004 MMORPG by Blizzard Entertainment, also known for such games as Diablo IV, Overwatch 2 and Hearthstone. It's the second installment of the Worldsoul Saga after WoW: The War Within.
Plot
After the previous expansion's events, the forces of darkness have tightened their grip on Azeroth. Hordes of Void creatures have invaded the legendary Quel'Thalas, an ancient land of the High Elves, north of the human settlement of Lordareon. Their target is the Sunwell, an immensely powerful energy source, which the evil forces wish to drain of light and plunge the world into darkness.
The player must unite the elven tribes inhabiting Azeroth for the first time since the battle of Suramar Pass, when they were led by Queen Azshara. They must also help fight off the darkness once and for all.
Technical aspects
Like all other expansions to World of Warcraft, Midnight is not standalone. The player needs the base game, available as part of a subscription service, which must be paid for anyway to play.
