World of Mixed Martial Arts 2 is the second installment of the series of sports managers, revealing the backstage of the world of professional MMA fights. The title was produced by Grey Dog Software studio, known among others from the Total Extreme Wrestling series. The player plays the role of the head of a company employing mixed martial arts players, and his tasks include organizing tournaments and promotion of duels.
The good reception of the 2007 release of World of Mixed Matrial Arts among PC players encouraged developers from Grey Dog Software studio to prepare the second part and thus inaugurate the new cycle.
As in the case of the original, the player takes on the role of a promoter of professional MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fights, and his task is to expand a small company to the rank of one of the largest companies in the industry. The manager's responsibilities include negotiating contracts with players, organizing tournaments and making duels attractive for fans and the media.
The gameplay model used in World of Mixed Matrial Arts 2 is very similar to the solutions previously used in World Extreme Wrestling 2008. The player has no possibility to directly interfere in the course of the duels. The game focuses on making managerial decisions, choosing from a wide range of options available in numerous menu windows.
Changes introduced in the continuation included, among others, more detailed data on competitors, which allowed to increase the realism of the combat simulation. The system of negotiating terms and conditions of employment with players has also been modified, so that different negotiating techniques can be used. The creators did not forget about functional solutions in the character editor.
Like other sports managers from the Grey Dog Software World of Mixed Matrial Arts 2 offer, it has a modest visual setting. Graphic elements, including three-dimensional models of players, are only a decoration, and the game is based on the text layer presented in the form of tables, statistics and charts.
