The popular FPS series, dating back to 8-bit computers (1981's Castle Wolfenstein), returns after a few years of absence. As the official owner of the franchise, Activision decided that the game would be created by Raven Software, the company known for Quake IV or the Soldier of Fortune series. Once again, the player assumes the role of B.J.

Wolfenstein for PC and PS3 is another installment in the series of first person shooters telling the story of B.J. Blazkowicz, an allied soldier fighting in the World War II. It is the fourth installment in full 3D, after Wolfenstein 3D, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. The game was developed by Raven Software, an experienced company that also created two installments of the Soldier of Fortune series, Star Wars Jedi Knight and Quake 4.

Story

The story is set in 1943. While the allied forces seem to be gaining the upper hand over the enemy, the Germans are still trying to tip the balance in their favor. Led by Heinrich Himmler, they are working on a mysterious weapon known as Black Sun. In so doing, the Nazis are using occultist practices to take control over the world. Blazkowicz is the only one capable of stopping them.
