W.I.T.C.H. is a platform game based on a series of comics with the same title, created by the author named Elisabetta Gnone. This cycle of five teenagers, chosen as a new defender of Kandrakaru - the centre of the universe. W.I.T.C.H. is an abbreviation formed from the first letters of the heroines' names: Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin. Despite the importance of the task entrusted to them, they look ordinary and lead a typical life for girls of their age.
During the twenty-five demanding levels, the user can take on the role of any warrior of his choice. We should not forget about teamwork, thanks to which it is much easier to fight evil. In order to defeat dangerous enemies such as the guards of Meridian, Lurdeny or Cedrick, the protagonists must use their powers. By using them they are able to cause a tornado or an earthquake, as well as to throw fireballs. However, the most effective is to cause an explosion of energy in the Heart of Kondracar.
Using mysterious abilities turns out to be also helpful in solving puzzles that appear every now and then on particular levels. The player should also remember to collect magical items to assist in casting spells. Difficult and uncontrollable attacks and the appropriate use of supernormal strength can be developed during the training mode.
