Wingspan
Wingspan is a digital version of the popular board game, where our task is to develop a wildlife preserve for birds. For this purpose, it is necessary to acquire new species and use their abilities.
Wingspan is a licensed adaptation of a board game of the same title. The goal of the game is to expand and manage your own wildlife preserve. Monster Couch studio is responsible for the game.
Mechanics
Wingspan transfers to digital the mechanics known from the original. The game is therefore a turn-based strategy based on the expansion of the wildlife preserve and the acquisition of new bird species (a total of 170 unique types, most of which have the ability to reproduce their behaviour in reality).
The gameplay has a limited number of turns, during which one of the available actions must be done. These include gathering food, laying eggs or getting new cards with birds and playing them on the board. An important role is played by the skills possessed by some species of birds, such as hunting, flocking or even tossing eggs into the nests of other birds. When planning your moves in each round, you need to be careful, because there are many ways to win - you can earn points for attracting as many birds as possible to the wildlife preserve, collecting as many eggs as possible or performing additional tasks during each round.
Game modes
Wingspan allows you to play in single player mode and compete in multiplayer with four other players.
Technical aspects
Wingspan graphics is designed to reflect the charm of the original. In the digital version all bird cards are animated and make the same sounds as in the natural environment.
