Windfolk is a dynamic shooter in which we take on the role of a female protagonist armed with a jet pack and a wide arsenal. The game was developed by an independent studio Fractal Fall.

Plot

Windfolk takes us on a journey to the world of Eurian. The islands that form it float in the air thanks to the power of a priceless mineral known as trydian. In order to secure control over the entire land, the sinister Coalition has decided to seize its resources. This led to a conflict between the Coalition forces and the resistance fighting for a better tomorrow for the Eurians. The heroine of the game is a rebel girl named Esen. She is motivated not only by the desire to fight for the freedom of the whole land, but also by the desire for revenge for the experiments, which were conducted on her in the past.

Mechanics

In Windfolk the action is shown from a third person perspective (TPP). The story campaign is divided into eight missions, which take us to different parts of Eurian land - from tropical beaches to hot deserts full of ruins of ancient civilization. As Esen uses a jetpack, during the game we mainly fly through levels and fight in the skies. The battles are incredibly dynamic, and in order to stay alive we have to stay in constant motion, performing dodges, barrels and other acrobatics. Esen uses a wide arsenal of weapons such as rifles and rocket launchers. She also makes use of various combat skills.

Game modes

Windfolk can only be played in single player mode. In addition to the story campaign, the game includes an arcade mode, which consists of seven different gameplay variants.
