The creators took care of a rich selection of military units and compliance with historical facts. The game's advantage is also a scenario editor that allows you to create your own missions.
West Front Description
War turn-based strategies have always been targeted at specific flu players. It can be said that nothing new has been invented in this genre for several years now, and further products are based on improving graphics. However, the bar set by the V4V series is still unbeatable for many programmers. For many years, the team from Talonsoft has been trying to do this, and from time to time they release turn-based strategies. One of them is the West Front.
As befits a strategy, there are dozens of units in front of us, which we will control on a hexagonally divided map. The battlefield is observed in isometric projection. We will be able to test our commanding skills in various points of Western Europe in the years 1940 - 1945. Next to this the fights will be conducted in Scandinavia and in the Mediterranean basin. As the service progresses, we have a chance to be promoted from lieutenant to general. Under our command you can find more than 500 types of various weaponry. Compared to the East Front, the programmers have made a number of improvements, such as improved artillery fire mode, which previously was extremely annoying.... Traditionally, Talonsoftu's product is equipped with a mission editor. Thanks to this, in addition to 50 available scenarios, players can import a huge number of new, sometimes very extensive from many websites dedicated to strategy games. In multiplayer mode up to 16 players can participate in the game.
Mespite the corrections (and two official add-ons issued) West Front is still a classic "tournament", which is not able to fully capture the realities of real fights as it is the case in the Close Combat series.
