Welcome to Brightville

Welcome to Brightville is an immersive sim realized in the form of an adventure action game. It is set in a "manapunk" world that combines elements drawn from cyberpunk, steampunk, and fantasy genres, but also from the Victorian era and neobaroque.

The game was developed by the independent studio Contrast Games based in Kazakhstan. Among the sources of inspiration for its creators were projects such as System Shock, BioShock and Atomic Heart.

Gameplay

In Welcome to Brightville we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP).

Non-linear adventure

While exploring the titular Brightville, we get to know its residents and interact with them, as well as carry out quests. The choices we make shape the course of individual story threads. Our actions also affect how the environment reacts to us. This is important because the problems encountered in the game can be solved in various ways - by force, cunning, or resorting to manipulation.

Combat and stealth

Exploration of the city is not an easy task, because we can encounter enemies. The game provides us with a wide range of offensive and defensive spells, which we can use during dynamic battles. Spells can be cast individually or merged into combinations. Instead of engaging in open combat, we can alternatively decide to act quietly, sneaking behind our enemies and eliminating them by surprise.
