developer: Forestlight Games publisher: PlayWay
Party Maker (known earlier as Wedding Designer) is a simulator, in which we play as the head of a company planning your dreamed parties in exclusive or exotic locations. The game is characterized by an extensive gameplay mechanics and forces the player to make many decisions. Developers from the Polish Forestlight Games studio (authors of Lost Viking: Kingdom of Women) developed this game. PlayWay helped with the release of the game.
Game mechanics
In Party Maker we play the role of a person who runs a company that organizes events: birthdays, weddings, bachelor parties or Halloween parties. Our responsibilities include planning all elements of such parties - from location, through decoration, to attractions and special events. In order to achieve success you need common sense, but also imagination - especially since we have the opportunity to organize parties in unusual places (e.g. in a junkyard, an abandoned factory, an amusement park or an old farm). If we are short of ideas, we can always support ready-made catalogs and instructions.
In the case of each order, our capabilities is determined by the budget, which we cannot exceed (it is also important to remember the margin that will allow us to earn money at the event - after all, we run a business). In some situations, however, we can afford to do more, provided that we show our cleverness - for example, the game allows us to repair and use equipment found on site (we don't need to buy new things, so we save money). Apart from planning events and decorations, we also clean the area and take care of the safety of guests.
Game modes
We can only play Party Maker alone. The basis of the game is a non-fictional single-player mode.
Technical aspects
Party Maker has quite a nice, three-dimensional graphics. The best impression is made by the places where we can organize events - the locations are very different, and they look reliable and detailed (it is worth noting that the developers have chosen a slightly redrawn art style, although it is more noticeable with the characters). The engine responsible for the lighting effects and shadows also performs well.
