Webbed is an adorable platform game in which we play as a female spider. It was developed by Sbug Games, an independent Australian studio, this is its first commercial project.

Plot

The heroine of the game Webbed is a spider girl whose boyfriend was kidnapped by a huge bird. She has no other choice but to chase her beloved before he becomes a food for the winged monster.

Mechanics

Webbed is a side-scroller. We move through colorful and diverse levels, which include a picturesque forest and industrial locations, by using a spider's web. The protagonist can not only swing on it like Spider-Man, but also use it to create passageways between platforms and even complex structures that allow her to travel long distances without touching the ground. From time to time the web is also used to neutralize the dangers.

But that's not all, as the spider can also ride a skateboard or use leaves as parachutes. Along the way, she meets friendly insects who, in return for her help, do the same for her.

Technical aspects

Webbed has colorful graphics made in pixel art technique. A physics engine has been implemented in the game, which takes care of the behavior of the web and the spider swinging on it.
