WaxWorks is a spiritual continuation of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark and Elvira II: The Jaws of Cerberus. Also this time we are dealing with a mix of adventure game and classic cRPG, set in a climate of horror.

Many years ago, the evil witch Ixona was punished for stealing by cutting off her hand. In retaliation, the ancestor of our hero cast a terrible curse on his family, as a result of which all the twins that will come into the world will be cursed - one of them will grow into a good man, while the other will become the incarnation of evil. Our protagonist learns about it from his uncle Boris resting on his death bed. By dying, he inherited the title museum of wax figures and instructions on how to get rid of the curse once and for all and save the hero's brother, Alex, from its destructive influence.

In order to do this we have to travel in time and space to four fantastic worlds, where four parts of the artifact are hidden. Thanks to them you will be able to perform a ritual, which will allow you to take off the curse and once and for all defeat the witch Ixona. We visit ancient Egypt, Victorian London, a haunted cemetery full of zombies and a plant-mutant mine. During the journey, the spirit of Uncle Boris, with whom we can communicate by means of a magical sphere, accompanies and serves valuable advice.

Compared to earlier games produced by Horrorsoft studio, the mechanics of the game remained virtually unchanged. Only graphics and animation have been improved and the game interface has been slightly modified. We move in leaps and bounds, mainly inside narrow corridors and with the help of found objects we solve a number of riddles prepared by the authors, leading us to our goal. The fight takes place in the same way as in Elvira games. The amount of damage inflicted depends on both the attributes of our hero and the type of weapon used, as well as the part of the body that we attack.
