Wartales: The Tavern Opens!

Wartales: The Tavern Opens! is an add-on developed by Shiro Games studio for the Wartales game released in 2023. Like the base version, the expansion combines elements of RPGs and strategy games, while tipping the scales towards economic aspects. The add-on focuses on managing a tavern.

Gameplay

In Wartales: The Tavern Opens! we gain the opportunity to invest the accumulated funds in our own tavern to ensure a steady income of gold. We start the fun by buying a building in which we will open a tavern. Next, we will face the task of furnishing it, as well as developing a menu and price list, planning deliveries, and hiring staff (cook, bard and others). Each of these aspects will contribute to attracting a specific group of people. It will also affect profits, reputation, and even provide special events and rewards.

Customers come from various backgrounds (pirates, merchants, nobles, etc.), so our goal is to recognize and meet the needs of specific types of patrons. Their preferences may be about comfort, elegance, access to entertainment or dishes. We can staff shortages with members of our team or with NPCs, taking into account their qualifications, level of experience and salary. The success of the inn may bring in spies sent by the competition - we also infiltrate other taverns to steal secret recipes, which will then enrich the menu we offer.
