Wargroove: Double Trouble Description
Wargroove: Double Trouble is a free expansion to a tactical strategy game inspired by Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. The add-on was created by the authors of the base game from Chucklefish.
Plot
In the Wargroove: Double Trouble expansion we meet new fighters: the powerful Wulfar, the mean Vesper and the twins Errol and Orla. After a series of unfortunate events (including a kidnapping and a ransom demand), the heroes must perform the most bold assault in Aurania's history.
Mechanics
The expansion does not introduce any drastic changes in the game. During the game we expand our army and fight in turn-based battles on two-dimensional maps. In combat we use not only different types of troops, but also Grooves - special skills of commanders. The creators focused only on adding new content to the base game. Double Trouble introduces, ofr example, two new units: the gold-stealing thief and a rifleman with a huge range. In addition, three more commanders with their own Grooves appear in Double Trouble.
Game modes
The main attraction of Wargroove: Double Trouble is the new campaign, created with the cooperation mode in mind (although also available in single-player form). We can have fun both online and locally. The patch also introduces new Arcade missions and a handful of new features to the online game, including private and public lobbys, competitive quick-match mode and new maps, including those created by the community.
A lot of new features have been added to the built-in editor, including the previously unavailable volcanic type of map. The expansion enables us to modify unit attributes and use interactive elements like levers, crates and drawbridges.
Technical aspects
Wargroove: Double Trouble doesn't change anything in the visuals game, but adds more tracks composed by Phonetic Hero, who has composed soundtracks to the base version of Wargroove, Sky Rogue and the fan-made modification for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, called Project M.
