A multiplayer (PvP focused) third-person tactical shooter with mechs. War Robots: Frontiers allows us to participate in team battles, using preset mechs or machines we've built from scratch. The gameplay is full of explosions and the players can deform the terrain and destroy obstacles.
War Robots: Frontiers is a F2P online tactical shooter with a third-person view, set in the universe of the War Robots game. This game about mech battles was developed by My.Games studio, the creators of Armored Warfare and Hawked.
Story
The story is set 200 years after War Robots and it tells about the discovery of Wild Ten - worlds rich in resources, light years away from Earth. A relentless war for control is waged between three powerful factions, and their tools are huge armed robots piloted by humans inside.
Gameplay
We start in War Robots: Frontiers in the hangar, where we choose combat robots, or construct them from scratch, mixing selected modules in the workshop. We can modify the torso, the chassis and the arms. We equip the created machine with gear and weapons, from firearms to electromagnetic weaponry, and finally assign it a pilot with specialized skills.
Each unit belongs to a different class with a unique specialization on the battlefield. The Flanker can use teleportation, the Defender can absorb bullets like a sponge, the Tactical Mech can rise above the battlefield, using a large fuel capacity for reconnaissance to choose a good sniping position, while the Assault Robot is a versatile unit with no specific strong points. The mighty Titan is the ultimate weapon, unlocked by earning points for completing specific objectives and eliminating enemies. In addition, there are mixed-class mechs constructed by us from modules of various types.
We cooperate with team members on the battlefield to disintegrate the machines of the opposing side. We are therefore trying to exhaust the power of the opponent's energy shield, in order to then destroy any of its modules, which will end the functionality of the entire robot. During the explosion-rich battles of War Robots: Frontiers, we utilize terrain destructibility and environmental hazards. We can rely on shields, carry out flanking attacks, and also engage in hand-to-hand combat. We have six drop pods at our disposal.
Game modes
War Robots: Frontiers was designed for online PvP and it offers several modes. In Last Robot Standing, the team with the most mechs left at the end of the match wins, in Warp Rush we fulfill a specific goal, while Team Deathmatch is a typical team fight for points.
The game also supports cross-play.
Engine
War Robots: Frontiers was created from scratch using the Unreal Engine 5.
