Wake The Dreamer is an unusual action-adventure game released on the mobile devices. The production was developed by a developer named Ali Sakhapour and it is his first commercial project.

Mechanics

The campaign simulates the life of a regular employee of a corporation, as well as recreating the fantastic world in which his mind is transferred when he falls asleep. Beginning the game, we create our character with the help of an extensive character editor. The game was divided into two alternating sections. During the daytime, we deal with the ordinary life of the hero. We must go to work, perform duties, explore the city, earn money and spend it on buying new clothes and furniture. This section resembles simulations like The Sims or Tamagotchi. The character lives his life according to the clock on our tablet or smartphone, regardless of whether we are looking at her or not. Thus, entering the game at different times brings different effects.

What distinguishes Wake The Dreamer from typical life simulations is the presence of a parallel world of dreams, to which we move after the hero falls asleep. In this reality, we travel in a spaceship between planets, take part in conflicts between fantastical races, and even try to find love. During our dreams, we also have to overcome numerous dexterity (including battle sections) and logical challenges.

We are forced to make important decisions on a regular basis both in our sleep and in the real world. Each choice directs the plot to new tracks and affects both worlds. At the beginning of the game, our hero is lonely and very unhappy. It is up to us whether he can change his life for the better or whether he will immerse himself even deeper in stagnation and depression.
