Victorian Admirals: Caroline Crisis 1885 Description
Victorian Admirals: Caroline Crisis 1885 is a proposal of the Totem Games development team addressed to fans of turn-based strategies in maritime climates. The production is an extension of the ideas known from the Ironclads series.
The axis of the plot of the game is a fictional conflict over the title islands in the Pacific Ocean. The German Reich, which was late in the colonisation of the overseas territories, is extending its sphere of influence to the Carolin Islands, over which Spain has lost control. When peaceful attempts to settle the dispute do not bring results, the Spanish decide to send warships. However, the Germans turned out to be faster....
In the course of the game, the player commands a fleet consisting of various types of vessels. Despite the ahistorical scenario, the individual models of the ships were reproduced with great care to be faithful to the realities of the end of the nineteenth century. This also applies to the tactics used in combat at sea.
The game is characterized by an aesthetic, although devoid of graphic waterworks, visual setting. Particular attention is paid to detailed ship models and realistic water.
