Adventure at the Chateau d’Or

Versailles Mysteries: Oscar and the Athanor is the first game in a series of adventures, the action of which was set in Versailles. Developers from Nemopolis studio reached for proven solutions, including a classic point-n-click interface.

The title character of the game is an extremely clever teenager, who is sent on a journey in time with the task of thwarting Count Du Noi's plans. The cunning aristocrat wants to possess the secret of Athanor, an alchemical instrument necessary to create a philosophical stone. Oscar must discover the mystery and make sure that it does not fall into the wrong hands, and at the same time cope with various challenges that await him at the court of Louis XIV, the famous King of the Sun.

The Versailles Mysteries: Oscar and the Athanor game refers to the mechanics of classic adventures. The player observes the action from the third person's perspective (TPP). His main task is to explore the area, interact with NPCs and solve more or less complex puzzles. The creators of the game prepared 25 locations, inspired by the authentic places in Versailles and its vicinity. The fun is diversified by interesting mini-games such as learning minuet and fencing for knives.

The game's visuals combine elements of 2 and 3D graphics. Noteworthy is the soundtrack with music maintained in the atmosphere of the era, as well as a 100-page encyclopaedia, containing a lot of interesting information about 17th-century life.
