Ved is an RPG with roguelike elements set in a world inspired by global mythologies and cultures. It was developed by an indie studio Karaclan and published by Fulqrum Publishing.

Plot

Ved is set in a fantasy world. The protagonist is Cyrus, a young man searching for a better life in the city of Micropolis. His life does indeed change dramatically, as he discovers he can teleport between two dimensions - the real one, and an alternate world of secrets, floating islands, strange and dangerous creatures. He soon realizes both worlds are connected.

Cyrus thus sets out on an adventure, during which he'll decide on his own fate and the futures of both worlds. It's up to our choices how his story will end.

Mechanics

Ved is a third-person game set in a vast world full of various locations. The player must traverse colorful realms, meet its inhabitants, various factions, complete quests and take part in random events, which inflict negative or positive statuses onto Cyrus. We must also make choices that affect the further fate of our hero and both worlds. As we progress, we learn more about both of them from different perspectives.

Turn-based combat plays a large part in the game. Cyrus is adept in wielding melee weapons and powerful magic. To succeed, we must correctly position Cyrus on the battlefield and chain his abilities into combos. As we progress through the game, we unlock new skills and face greater challenges.

In-between each trip, we'll return to a village serving as our base of operations. As we progress further, we can upgrade it, constructing new buildings which unlock new abilities.
