An adventure game about Azami Fukurai - a girl working for an agency focused on solving supernatural cases, while trying to learn more about her own powers at the same time. Each case in Urban Myth Dissolution Center requires extensive fieldwork, as well as conducting investigation using the office computer, finding information and clues on the Internet.
Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a retro-styled adventure game. It was developed by the Japanese studio Hakababunko, which also has Makoto Wakaido's Case Files in its portfolio.
Story
The game's action takes place in contemporary Japan. The plot revolves around the titular Center. It serves as a detective agency that deals with solving supernatural cases that ordinary law enforcement agencies cannot handle.
We take on the role of a girl named Azami Fukurai, who gets a job at this agency. She wants to learn about her own extraordinary powers which allow her to perceive remnants of human intentions and thoughts.
Mechanics
Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a classically executed adventure game. We explore locations, conduct conversations and solve puzzles.
The campaign consists of a series of problems to be resolved. In each of them, not only conducting an investigation on the spot plays a crucial role, but also the investigation from behind the desk, during which we browse social media and other internet services in search of clues and witness accounts.
Game modes
The game only supports singleplayer.
Technical aspects
The Urban Myth Dissolution Center has a pleasing two-dimensional graphic design made in a heavily pixelated retro style.

Twisted Voxel: 7 / 10 by Salal Awan
Urban Myth Dissolution Center offers a visually striking and intriguing mystery-solving experience with its nostalgic pixel art and modern twists. While the gameplay loop is engaging and the social media integration adds a fresh layer, the slow pacing, underdeveloped characters, and inconsistent case quality hold it back.
