Unreal Championship 2: Liandri Conflict

Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict for XBX is a continuation of one of the greatest FPP shooters released on Microsoft console. The title is characterized by adding new melee fighting elements, absent from previous installments. The game was developed by Epic Megagames, while the duties of the distributor were undertaken by Microsoft Game Studios.

Mechanics

Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict is an action game, which we experience from a first person perspective of a currently chosen hero. One of the main differences between the previous installments is the ability of melee fighting, acquired by all characters taking part in the circus created by Epic Megagames. It’s an uncommon addition, appearing for the first time in “Unreal” series. It allows players to create new techniques of silent or spectacular elimination. When we decide to use the new melee system, the camera changes its position, switching from FPP mode to TPP mode. Such a great addition had to influence the people responsible for creating the levels. Each of the maps used in the game (more than 40) was created mainly with melee fighting in mind, but classic FPP fans shouldn’t be disappointed.

The developers created fourteen fighters, all hard boiled and different from each other. Each of them has their own unique attacks performed using a melee weapon, and specific fusions that allow eliminating enemies from extended distances. Aside from these novelties, we’ve also received few completely new actions/combos that can be performed once we gather enough adrenaline. For players with a weakness for long-range weapons, the developers prepared new positions in the deadly arsenal, for example, grenade launcher.

Game modes

The story of Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict for XBX is focused around Anubis, a fighter who attempts to destroy a monstrous Liandri corporation. For fans of multiplayer gaming (through Xbox Live!), a number of different modes have been prepared, from classic “Deathmatch”, up to new ones, such as “Overdose”. Up to eight players can take part in one match. Multiplayer mode allows for connecting few consoles through link-cable.
