Unrailed 2: Back on Track is the second installment in a series of co-op arcade games with roguelike and time management elements, originating from 2020. Like the first game, it was developed by an indie studio Indoor Astronaut.

Mechanics

Unrailed 2: Back on Track is an isometric game. Like its predecessor, we play as a train crew, tasked with allowing their train passage through procedurally generated areas. The machine is constantly moving forward, forcing us to quickly gather resources and lay down tracks so it doesn't derail. Time's not our only obstacle, either. The stages are full of obstacles, and occasionally we'll even need to face off against enemies and bosses.

The game's pace is extremely high, but persevering unlocks better locomotives and lets us expand the train with additional wagons. Over time we also unlock permanent upgrades for our characters, as well as skills that modify gameplay and make things easier. The cherry on top are tons and tons of cosmetics.

Game modes

Unrailed 2: Back on Track supports singleplayer, as well as online and local multiplayer. In addition to a non-linear story campaign, co-op mode, competitive mode and online leaderboards, the game offers an extensive editor, in which we can create our own stages and share them with the community.
