Universal Combat: Edge to Edge is an extension of the PeCet hybrid of simulation and strategy elements, released in the first quarter of 2004. The new position represents a genre of tactical action games, functioning completely independently and having a completely different character from the basic product and its related Battlecruiser series.
The futuristic virtual world is much smaller than in previous works by developers from the BC3000AD studio. Four planets within two space regions are the arena of mass battles (land, air and water confrontations) between the ruling and rebellious peoples (six classes of soldiers and two types of pilots). Single-player mode allows you to compete with the most advanced Artificial Intelligence, while the multiplayer option supports up to sixty users.
The remodeled "engine" generates a rather complex three-dimensional visual setting with a wide range of effects (e.g. dynamic lighting and shading) from the ninth version of the Microsoft DirectX interface and a special backbone animation technology. An excellent image is complemented by a sound system designed from scratch.
