Mechanics
United 1944 is an FPS emphasizing PvP competition. The players traverse different maps modeled on WW2's battlefields, fighting each other with a wide roster of weaponry.
The game distinguishes itself from other WW2 shooters via the addition of survival elements. The players must carefully scour maps, gather resources, craft weapons and equipment, build and defend bases and develop their character's skills via skill tress with dozens of unlockable abilities.
The developers of United 1944 have prepared an extensive crafting system. Players can make items, build barricades and walls as well as set traps.
The game emphasizes cooperation between teammates with several useful systems to help coordinate their actions, such as designating players as squad leaders.
Game modes
The game only supports multiplayer. The primary game mode is Dominance, tasking two teams of sixteen players to occupy designated points on the map, granting them useful bonuses by doing so.
Technical aspects
The 3D visuals of United 1944 are rather appealing. The audio is realistic, especially the weapon sound effects which were made by recording actual WW2 firearms.
