Mechanics

In UnDungeon for PC, we have to choose one of the seven unique available characters. Each of them has their own unique design and skills. We will explore areas filled with enemies and fight them in real-time combat. We won’t, however, level up our character like in other games. Instead of using experience points to increase our stats and skills, we will find and use special artifacts to do so. Enter the Gungeon, Transistor, and Hyper Light Drifter inspired the devs, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the players’ skill is crucial. Excluding movement, every action we made consumes energy, so we have to be cautious about what we do. We also have to take under consideration the game’s physics. It influences how bullets, grenades, shrapnels behave.

Beside fighting with numerous enemies, we will also encounter NPCs. The game has tons of dialogues available through which we will learn the history of each of the seven dimensions and the secrets of the cataclysm. The choices we make influence the game’s ending, but to learn everything about the world of UnDungeon for PC we will have to finish the game multiple times. The permadeath mechanics also prolongs the game, but, as our characters are immortal, it influences the procedurally generated world.

Technical Aspects

UnDungeon for PC has 2D pixelart visuals. We observe the game from an isometric perspective. The characters, and their animations, were created with the highest attention to detail. OST was composed by stonefromthesky.
