An attempt to revive the platform series, popular in 2002-2005, whose protagonist is the title Tiger named YOU. Unlike the three-dimensional predecessors, this time we are dealing with a classic 2D platform. In the game we accompany the tiger and his friends from the Bush Resuers team in the next adventures, taking place in the indigenous Australian scenery.
TY the Tasmanian Tiger 4 is an attempt to revive the once popular platform series, the first three parts of which were released in 2002-2005 on PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube. The fourth installment of the game (although without the "four" in the title) was released after 8 years of break and originally came only to users of tablets and computers working under the control of Windows 8. More than 2 years later a traditional desktop version appeared in the digital distribution of Steam. Both editions are the responsibility of the original creators of the series from Australian Krome Studios.
Like the previous parts of the cycle, in the game we accompany a nice Tiger named after you, who is at the head of the rescue team called Bush Rescurers. Based in Coolarangah, a group of mechanics, scientists and travelers has one basic task: to help their community whenever it becomes vulnerable. The plot of the game takes place directly after the events described in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan, and this time the team of heroes deals with solving a mystery connected with the mysterious, underground land.
Unlike the previous versions of the series, which were realized in full 3D, the "four" is a typical two-dimensional platformer, referring to the roots of the genre and using classic gameplay mechanics. With 40 different levels set in indigenous Australian climates, we'll find plenty of jumping, swimming, climbing and descending on ropes, as well as lots of fun to collect, puzzles to solve and enemies to overcome. Of course, there was no shortage of boomerang known to fans, which during the game can be further improved, which turns out to be necessary to defeat stronger and stronger opponents.
In terms of binding TY the Tasmanian Tiger 4 stands at a good level, although the graphics of the game - just like the mechanics of the game looks a bit old-school. The production offers several play modes (Adventure, Time Attack, Turkey Chase, Danger Arena), generally designed for one person. In the Windows 8 version, however, you will find asynchronous multiplayer mode, which allows you to challenge your Xbox Live friends. Both editions instead offer a set of unlockable achievements, a cloud storage option and full support for game controllers.
