Turok: Escape from Lost Valley is an action-adventure game developed by the independent studio Pillow Pig Games. The title, released by Universal Studios Interactive Entertainment, is not a continuation of the well-known FPS series but is based on the comic book series from 1956 that served as its prototype.

Plot

The main character of Turok: Escape from Lost Valley is the fearless warrior named Turok, who wakes up in the Lost Valley. The task of the protagonist is to face the dangers of the land and find a way to escape, in which he is helped by his companion, Andar.

Mechanics

In Turok: Escape from Lost Valley, the action is shown in isometric view. During the game, we find ourselves in various locations, such as jungles, snow-covered mountain peaks, gloomy caves, or even a river valley, which we cross on the raft. In each of them, the ground consists of square fields, on which the heroes can move in eight directions (forward/backward, sideways and diagonal), which is important both for exploration and battles with enemies.

During the game, we encounter threats in the form of hostile people, as well as animals and dinosaurs; our opponents include powerful bosses like a giant bear and a giant water snake. The combat system is arcade and we deal with enemies both in close combat (using a knife) and at a safe distance (using a bow).

Technical aspects

The two-dimensional visuals of Turok: Escape from Lost Valley adopt an eye-pleasing, cartoonish style, which enables the game to appeal to younger audiences.
