Plot
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion takes us on a journey to the world inhabited by anthropomorphic vegetables. The main character of the game - Turnip Boy - evades paying taxes. The sinister mayor (who is an onion) finally considers him a threat to society and throws him out of his house. In order to get the money to pay off his gigantic debts and regain his lost possessions, the protagonist must embark on a journey during which he will meet other vegetables, face numerous dangers, as well as find the trail of a conspiracy and get a chance to overthrow the corrupt government. How his adventure ends depends on our actions.
Game mechanics
In Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion we observe the action from a top down view. We travel through colorful land inhabited by various characters. While talking with them, we learn their stories and find out about their problems, which we can help them to solve. In addition, during the exploration we often find ourselves in the underworld filled with creative puzzles. It's worth to solve the puzzles because in this way we gain access to valuable treasures.
We have to be on guard, because the game world is full of hostile animals. On our way we face both regular opponents and much more powerful bosses. We eliminate enemies using unusual weapons, such as a sword made of earth, which serves us to fight in close quarters, or a watering can, which we use primarily to create bombs (useful both in combat and during exploration). As we progress, we gain new skills and equipment, which allows us to go further and face more challenges.
