A simulation game in which the players work as a car mechanic that is specialized in repairing the titular vehicles. The game, created by PlayWay, has no story mode – instead of that we take jobs. A conversation with a client that happens before the repairs allows us to learn what needs to be done. There are eight cars in the game – each of them was designed with a lot of details and because of that the cars consist of hundreds of parts.

Truck Mechanic 2015, released on PC Windows, is a game about being a car mechanic that specializes in servicing trucks. The game was developed by PlayWay, a studio that is known for this type of games.

Plot

The developers did the usual thing for this genre and they didn't bother with coming up with any plot. Instead of that they focused only on simulating a work of an owner of truck service company.

Mechanics

The gameplay is focused on repairing the vehicles. There are eight models of trucks and each one of them consists of hundreds of individual parts. They also require different servicing methods. Before taking an order we meet with an owner of a vehicle and, through a conversation, we learn what they need. All repairs are done in an arcade way – we use mouse and keyboard to simulate movements that are simplified versions of those that our mechanic would make in reality.

During the gameplay we can repair, e.g. breaks, gearboxes, engines and other mechanisms. Players also need to remember to order spare parts so they can have all necessary parts at hand. There is also an option to use pre-owned parts, which allows us to take orders from those clients that have less money.

We get money for finishing the repairs. Thanks to them we can buy new parts and we can develop our workshop by adding new equipment. Getting repair manuals is also very important because they allow us to work faster and better, which, in turn, helps us in getting more money.

Technical aspects

Truck Mechanic 2015 is well executed. Each truck has a lot of details and are very interactive. This includes not only their exterior but also all interior parts, which makes the gameplay more enjoyable.
