Tropico 5: Waterborne

Tropico 5: Waterborne for PC, PS4 and etc. is the first large expansion pack to the fifth installment of the cult series of economic strategy games developed by Haemimont Games.

Plot

The expansion once again enables the player to assume the role of the charismatic El Presidente, the leader of a small island country. The battle for maintaining power in a complicated political situation is now expanded with the possibility to explore waters that were inaccessible in previous entries in the series.

Mechanics

The new Waterborne campaign consists of six missions and it focuses on making use of the water surrounding the islands of Tropico. There are 9 new buildings and units, including floating apartments and submarines. The game also introduces new water-related random events like water traffic jam.

Except for increasing the importance of waters, the expansion doesn’t introduce major gameplay or graphics changes. However, it features four new islands, two new avatars and six accessories.
