Tropico 3: Absolute Power Description
Tropico 3: Absolute Power for PC is the first expansion pack for an economic strategy game Tropico 3. The expansion brings a completely new singleplayer campaign. Having the base game (2009) installed is required to play this expansion.
Mechanics
The new campaign was divided into ten different missions. A plot which glues them together was set on a map comprised of ten islands. Additionally, the player can use a set of previously unavailable buildings and six new structures when developing their own republic, which affects how the environment looks.
In Tropico 3: Absolute Power for PC, the player-controlled dictator gains access to the so-called Megalomania Edicts. Using those, the player can demonstrate their power through having great statues made of gold built, organizing a festival in the name of the dictator, and creating one's own currency. A new faction called the Loyalists helps the player to build up their power. They are the player's supporters who are extremely devoted to the cause, which is to make the player a long-ruling dictator with their own statues on each and every street.
The expansion brings 4 new avatars - two male and two female. Apart from that, dozens of palace upgrades (visual), improved radio news that present the situation on the island in a more precise way, as well as the second kind of rural roads (gravel). Difficult situation on the island and particular factions getting suspicious can lead to a set of new catastrophies. Dealing with those, however, is more difficult than in the base Tropico 3.
