Trinity Universe is a three-dimensional science fiction RPG, created thanks to the cooperation of three companies - Nippon Ichi, Gust and Idea Factory. The first two borrowed characters from their earlier productions (Atelier Viorate and Disgaea), and the last one took care of moving the already known, episodic characters into a new reality.
The main part of the game is to explore the world of the game, consisting of both dungeons and places on the surface of the earth. In each level, opponents are waiting for players to guard various treasures and block the way to further stages. The opponent combat system is similar to Xenogears, where heroes' abilities are assigned to three different buttons, and in order to deal as much damage as possible to enemies, we have to press buttons in the right order, trying to do so in the shortest possible time. Reflection is also important during the sow exit sequence. In order not to be crushed by the rubble, it is necessary to destroy special gravity fields and get out of the ruins together with the whole team before the time limit expires.
The authors envisaged two separate scenarios for the users - one for the forces of good and the other for evil. In the first variant we control the goddess of war, Rizerial, and our actions are accompanied by Viorate Platane and Pamela Ibis. Deciding to fight on the evil side, we take Kanate under our control, and at her side appear then Etna, Flonne, Prinny - heroes prepared by Nippon Ichi group. For the first time in history these characters are presented in full 3D.
